Dear readers, I just wanted to apologize for my absence these past couple of weeks. I don’t have an excuse for it other than that I’ve been very busy making plans for training and AWDF Nationals and upcoming seminars and and and…
Additionally, I feel as if I’m running out of runway on the Newbie’s Guide for the moment, unless someone is interested in reading “The Newbie’s Guide to Entering Trials You Aren’t Ready For” or “The Newbie’s Guide to Puppy FOMO – How Many Dogs is Too Many, Anyway?”
As soon as we get a break in the rain (Rain?! In the PNW?! Well I never!), I am going to do a post re: keeping your dog comfortable in your vehicle in the summer heat. But I need lots of pictures to demonstrate the deployment of my many cooling strategies, and I don’t know what happens to an aluminet if it gets wet, so it’ll have to wait until next week.
I will do better on training recaps as the pieces are starting to fall into place for the next couple of months. In all, I will (hopefully, pending everyone still likes me and the weather doesn’t close the mountain passes), be training with three clubs on a regular basis in the lead-up to AWDF Nationals. Maybe I’ll start a special “Newbie’s Road to the AWDF National Championship” section…
Additionally, I’ll basically be moving to California for the month of May to prep and then to (hopefully) trial.
We may not be ready now, but I’m going to do my damnedest to get us ready.
So – that’s what’s been going on here at My Malinois Life – I’ve been trying desperately to shape the life around the malinois in the hopes of not embarrassing all of the many people that I train with. Now that that is mostly in place, I’ll be back to blogging on a regular basis – hopefully about good things, but I’ll still share the embarrassing moments, like getting yanked off my feet and dragged down the muddy field by my dog.
